Hi :)

This little site is about things that happen to grab my attention. Sometimes they’re pretty simple, and sometimes they’re a bit more complex. Not much more mind you. A lot of my life is musical, so you’ll find a disproportionate amount of posts that happen to be on music in some ways …general ideas, feelings and thoughts as well as songs I write, bands/people I play with and various musical points of interest. I also dabble in poetry and photography, just not as much as I’d like to.

The rest of the posts are a mix of personal, family/friend related, general interest as well as things that sorta fill the space – both fleeting and newsworthy. I blog because it’s a way to express myself, which is nice for me because I’m somewhat shy. It’s also therapeutic in a sense …not that I need therapy though. Not yet at least. Yes, sometimes it’s like homework, but more often than not I come away with a new perspective on many things …and I hope at times it challenges you in the same way.  Yes, I’ve been in that ‘blog rut’ before, just as we all have I think – but I’ve persevered, and decided to let the content fall where it may.  If anything, it’ll be neat to look back on in 10 years time.  Knock on digital wood.

Me?  I’m a single guy from Edmonton, Alberta (originally from Saskatchewan), and turned 45 in July. I enjoy sugar of all forms (primarily slurpees and chocolate bars …although I’ve recently been trying to cut back), like to keep fit, am pretty easy going, gig more with the bass because it’s easier to find work, use a mac, don’t watch too much tv, try to look for the best in people, don’t swear (in public), not overly communicative at times, rent an 80 yr. old house with a roomie, try to bike as much as I drive (it can be hard), suck at math and speling, run when I can, hardly dream, consider myself a songwriter before a musician, read less than I should, like to philosophize (aka offer opinions about things to which I know nothing about), like little kids as far as I can throw them, enjoy sarcasm (see previous remark), hate traffic, wear glasses, don’t have any enemies (yet), more of a momma’s boy, developed a taste for spicy foods later in life, perhaps somewhat emotionally detached, motocross as a kid, developed seasonal allergies in my 30′s, don’t have any ink or piercings, liberal leanings kinda, favorite color is blue …sometimes grey, hate most canadian spellings (see previous remark), coke not pepsi, prefer chics with short hair, got my first cellphone in Sept. 10′, kinda awkward around people I don’t know, I’ve given up on Mrs. Right and finally if I ever made my mind up about something …I’d probably change it.  Maybe.  It’s hard to say.

Feel free to use stuff non-commercially …and it’d be great if you link back and let me know about it.  Creating or making derivatives from my material is frowned upon though (see that CC license) and if you find you’d like to use something commercially please get in touch with me through email …I’m sure we can work something out.  Of course any general comments are welcome too.
